After neglecting my instagram for more than a year now, I finally started using it in my ipad. I didn’t really want to post pic in there, because I already have that in flickr. After much thought, I decided to upload post-it art I’ve created. Its mostly hand-drawn type work and/or illustrations. And yes, I used my ipad’s camera to capture it. I don’t get how people post pics that are taken by SLR or other device that didn’t have instagram in it. Instagram is an app to enhance the picture taken by a mobile device, it’s not a computer editing software. I woudn’t even want to go on screen capturing and filtering it in instagram. See why it took me more than a year to start using it. haha.

I was one of the participant that got selected to The de Young’s annual art slam last week. My work was only shown for two days, Thursday and Saturday. It was a privilege and honor to have my work seen in a museum with that much reputation. It wasn’t in the same realm as their permanent collection, but to be in the same location as all these famous people in history, I felt extremely blessed. I think the best part was having free tickets in those days to check out the whole museum. I had several tickets under my name, but I really don’t have friends that’s into what I’m into, so a lot of the tickets were unused. My teacher from 5th grade showed-up though, with her husband all the way from Sacramento. I’m very grateful for them driving all the way to San Francisco to support me.

Taking the bus to the museum was a breeze on Thursday, but Saturday was tough. It was raining early in the morning and my umbrella turned inside-out. Once in the museum, I took advantage of everything, including a free tour of their exhibits. Luckily, I had a solo, private tour because I got there early and no one else took a tour with us. Ha, never thought I’d ever get a one-on-one tour to myself…it was GREAT!

I was listening to Varsity – “Like I always do” and all I can think of is this scene, so I made a quick comic out of it. Nothing related to the song, it was just a little cute scene that matched the cuteness of the song.

It’s time to get back to norm. again. I guess the countdown to 2012′s Christmas season has begun. kidding! But I do miss the season festivities already. Christmas season is just the best time, right after Thanksgiving or maybe before. haha

For the last week of 2011 and the last doodle Tuesday of the year, I decided to do something with food since I’ve been stuffing myself with extra amount of good food this Holiday season. Too much of it! The last few days, I’ve been feeling stuffed all the time and cold at the same time. Now I know how it feels to be the Mammoth character in “Ice Age.” I need to run soon, like right now!

As far as doodle Tuesday goes, here’s to another year of doodling and being creative.

Doodle Tuesday

Haven’t been posting doodle tuesdays in several weeks, again. I wish I can be more consistent, but at least I’m getting my doodle on. I actually have several things to blog, but It’s just a matter of uploading pictures and spending time writing. Hopefully before Christmas. I was watching a videos of rhinos reservation, which lead to this doodle with a gift ready for the Holidays.

The last two days, My playlist only consist of one song, and that is “Home” by Jay Sean. I like it so much that I started doodling my mug as a house, and of course, it can’t be complete without adding some monsters in the piece. These are baby URBSTERS monsters.

This October has been the worst in updating this blog. Well, today even though I have other projects that are nearing deadline, I decided just to take a break and just do a quick doodle. Oh, it also gave me a chance to rock out listening to songs. Listening to We The Kings this whole day.

Doodle Tuesday

I know these doodle Tuesday are just a quick doodle, but today’s doodle was extra quick. Like five minutes. Tonight, I have to pack my clothes for tomorrow. My two friends are getting married this Friday at Novato and I’ll be spending the next few days at San Rafael. As their best-man, Im about done with the speech that I have to give. I didn’t really write out a speech, more like bullet-points. I feel like I can talk about these past memories without a written format, and I don’t really wanna read off a paper. Me, not having the best vision in the world, it’ll look ridiculous having a paper one inch from my face reading a speech. My only problem now is that Im hoping I won’t freeze and be nervous that nothing comes to my head. I’ve spent a whole lot of time with these two friends of mine, so I think sharing their/our stories will be fun.

My Mom really wanted me to post my art statement into her Facebook. I kind of didn’t want to in the beginning because thats her facebook and I don’t know if that would be an appropriate place to put it. I finally did it last week and with the help of my bro (not a FB user, so needed help), we put my statement into my Mom’s FB. Surprisingly, I got a whole bunch of her friends (also some of my family members) that stooped by to read my statement.  It was very humbling and at the same time very encouraging.  Thank you to everyone that found my link through my Mom’s page. I appreciate all of you for stopping by and taking your time to see my passion and reading about it.

Doodle Tuesday

Last week was almost the last doodle Tuesday ever, because of the past weekend. Okay, that’s exaggerating it a little too much. During the past weekend, I jumped off a plane, 14,000 ft. high, skydiving to the ground. It was thee most daring challenge I’ve ever done. I think more daring than asking a girl out. Yes, I know….that scary! Overall, it was a great weekend spending time with my friends who are two weeks away from their wedding day. After skydiving, I now have to face the next daring challenge — a speech from the best-man. After experiencing skydiving, I think I’d rather do that again than speaking to a huge crowd.

My exhibit has been to a good start, I was at there four days last week showing my pieces to friends. I even had a group of kids on their field trip visit it. Thanks for the support from everyone that has visited. It meant a lot! Thank YOU!!

Doodle Tuesday

I thought I wouldn’t have a chance to upload a doodle today, because of my schedule. I got home pretty tired, out of energy, but I just visualize that this will only benefit me in the future. Haven’t drawn all day anyways, so this quick doodle is short practice of the day. I Can’t ruin my streak of doing this every week, I’ve been doing good the last month or so.

Finally! my exhibit is already up and ready to go starting tomorrow, July 20, 2011. The show got extended till Dec, so the dates in a lot of the flyer are wrong; stating it only last till Aug 31. The new date will be from July 20 – December 31, 2011. New, fresh work will be posted in October, so Two shows in total. I hope everyone that can come would take a look because I’ve worked hard on this exhibit, and also, to show awareness a visually impaired person can be productive in this visual world.
I’ve been very blessed and I cant thank God enough for this wonderful opportunity. Thank you to everyone that has supported me in my creative process. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Today’s Doodle Tuesday will be a gift for one of the people that has been helping me with my exhibition. Marker and watercolor on paper. I can only put six images, but there will be two shows. In total, I’ll be showcasing 12 art works. It was hard cutting down to that many. I WANTED TO POST ALL OF THEM. haha.

Doodle Tuesday

There’s been a lot of concept sketches for design work the last few weeks and haven’t been drawing as much. I’ve also been busy with the exhibition show in two week and its only going to get busier in setting that up. I started typing my artist statement, but haven’t quite finish with it, maybe I’ll post it here along with more info on the exhibition later on the week. Here’s a another doodle tuesday, a good excuse to draw something.

Doodle Tuesday

Something different from my usual illustration. Its always hard to draw a female compare to a male. Especially females that has to be cute. Its late June is SF and it’s a rainy day – wow! All good, country music, steak, drawing and rain are great combination.

A few more weeks and my exhibition will be up. The hard part is choosing which ones to put up, because Im working witha limited space. I want a mixture of photography and illustration, but it might just be a bit more in the illustration side. We’ll see! I’ll be posting the flyer that I designed, consisting one of my illustrations this week or next.

Doodle Tuesday number 44! Excited that Pixar’s “Cars 2″ is coming out this week. Still debating if I should watch it in theater or wait and buy it on DVD. Here’s a guy in a small  car to celebrate the release. Also, another exciting thing to look forward to is the NBA draft this Thurs., kings have the seventh pick. I’ll be fine with either K. Leonard, B. Knight, K. Walker, or J.Fredette.

Another Tuesday, another doodle. I’m starting to sell some of my old DJ equipments, it was a good run, but some have to go since I’m not using it. At the end, all I want is my turntable and serratos, which I don’t have.

Doodle Tuesday

Here’s the doodle for this Tuesday. I wished I had the skills as some of these character designers that work for dreamworks, pixar, or disnery. They’re incredible! I think I’m improving my comfort level of drawing/painting in PS. I know its still a long way to go, just barely touching the surface. I want to feel like traditional pen and paper comfort, soon, I hope. None the less, gotta keep the consistency of practicing.

Doodle Tuesday

I don’t really like this caricature painting. ugggh! I don’t understand how people can create outstanding painting everyday. I guess more practice to come. Yes, MORE PRACTICE!

Another tonality art piece.
