Birthday Wish

For the second year in a row, my friends helped me make my birthday wish come true. Another year of asking for canned/packed foods to donate as gifts. (last year’s) Thank you to all my friends and family who donated and participated, it’s truly a blessing having your support in this cause. It is the best gifts I can ever receive for my birthday. This is not really a food drive, its more of a personal way in celebrating my birthday while glorifying God at the same time. God has given me more than enough and this is just one of the ways I can appreciate him by sharing his blessings. Thank You, Thank You!!! Also, thank you to those who gave me packed/canned food and still gave me gifts for my birthday. I didn’t expect that, the food donation was more than enough!

This year’s birthday had a little twist, my Mom threw me a birthday gallery-showing-party. It was a last minute put together party that had me cutting and framing for two weeks. Overall I showed about 18 pieces. Some were digital numbered and some were traditional mediums. From each pieces I sold, I donated about 30 percent of the income. At the end, I’ve accumulated $100 which I donated through the Guide Dogs For The Blind. It’s just fitting to help them out with my own vision status.

I can’t believed I actually sold some of my art pieces.I do a lot of my own art without showing anyone, but to have people pay me money for them is mind-blowing. Thank you to everyone that purchased my pieces! I’m amaze by it and it’s a confidence booster. I can admit, I was hesitant to have this gallery-party, because I wonder what people would think of them. Its like showing my art side and I sometimes feel like that’s too revealing. So, Thank you for the support, it has inspired me to keep on getting better in my craft.

In other news, My exhibit in the SF Main Library has been extended till February 2012.

Crafting and Showing

End of last month (Nov.) and beginning of this month, I was busy putting together a small charity art show. It was also for my birthday, but that’s for a different blog. In this blog, I wanted to show some of the works I displayed/sold that are non-digital work.

These two pieces are roughs from a school project years ago using gouache paint. These roughs was a selection process in choosing either a cool color scheme or warm color scheme. Inspirational sources was also included. The final piece I chose was the warm color scheme, so I made that final piece bigger and painted it using gouache too. I thought these roughs looked good enough to put in the show and I really like how they are presented under a glass, framed.

Doodle Tuesday

For the last week of 2011 and the last doodle Tuesday of the year, I decided to do something with food since I’ve been stuffing myself with extra amount of good food this Holiday season. Too much of it! The last few days, I’ve been feeling stuffed all the time and cold at the same time. Now I know how it feels to be the Mammoth character in “Ice Age.” I need to run soon, like right now!

As far as doodle Tuesday goes, here’s to another year of doodling and being creative.

Doodle Tuesday

Haven’t been posting doodle tuesdays in several weeks, again. I wish I can be more consistent, but at least I’m getting my doodle on. I actually have several things to blog, but It’s just a matter of uploading pictures and spending time writing. Hopefully before Christmas. I was watching a videos of rhinos reservation, which lead to this doodle with a gift ready for the Holidays.

Doodle Tuesday

The last two days, My playlist only consist of one song, and that is “Home” by Jay Sean. I like it so much that I started doodling my mug as a house, and of course, it can’t be complete without adding some monsters in the piece. These are baby URBSTERS monsters.

With the first set of my Exhibit finished, I’d like to show the pieces from it. The other Artist, Richard Chapman’s work were the top six, and mines was the bottom six. The second show is currently running now, and will be up in display till the end of 2011. This time, Richard and I switched with me having the top six spaces for my art.

Venetia P!

Had an opportunity to meet the beautiful Venetia from Airbnb and take her photos. After a few weeks of planning and scheduling, we had the date settled to shoot one afternoon with my assistant, Sokhon in San Francisco. Since Venetia travels a lot for work, we used Amtrak’s train tracks as location to show “travel.” We were all in alert while in this location, because a train vs photoshoot are ugly combo if we’re in the way. Other shots were simply her having fun with different looks and background. Venetia is an easy going person who is down for a lot of things, even sitting on the a live train track. Very grateful of having a chance in collaborating with her. She’s one talent that has a lot to show. Check her out: http://www.venetiap.com/

Doodle Tuesday

This October has been the worst in updating this blog. Well, today even though I have other projects that are nearing deadline, I decided just to take a break and just do a quick doodle. Oh, it also gave me a chance to rock out listening to songs. Listening to We The Kings this whole day.
